About Me

This is my 6th year teaching and my 2nd year at Mandarin High School. I taught middle school in Nassau County for 4 years, but my end-game has always been to teach high school. I am very excited to continue my 2nd year here at MHS.

Some things to know about me: I am originally from New York City and moved to Jacksonville when I was 7. My dad was in the Navy, and I grew up at Mayport Naval Station, and I graduated from Fletcher High School. I am married and live in Kingsland, Georgia, it is a 52 mile drive to Mandarin High from my front door. If you do the math, that means I drive 104 miles a day to be here and 520 miles a week.  I am a mom of 4 and grandmother of 8, almost 9 grandkids (6 girls and, in October, it will be 3 boys). My sons, Joshua and Miguel, are 33 and 31 (32 on Christmas Eve), and my daughters, Ciara and Cerina, are 30 and 28. Joshua is married, lives in South Carolina and has 4 daughters; the oldest, Lily, is a 10th grader this year, and her sisters, Ava (8), Maisy (almost 6, we share a birthday, November 27th), and Stella (5). My daughter, Ciara, has 2 children, Delanie (9) and Talon (almost 4), and is pregnant with another grandson due in October. Cerina has one son, Zander (7, eight in November). My family is my whole world and they are loud, crazy, and drive me crazy, but I love them all!

I love to bake, cook, and read. I also love spending time with my family and friends!

We are going to have a great year!
